With snow having hit the UK, I updated Facebook earlier with the following:
Looks like my Facebook friends are split 50-50 between:
a) People celebrating they can’t get into work/school and get a day at home due to snow.
b) People complaining about how lazy people are and rubbish England is because schools are closed and people claim they can’t get into work today.
A mass snowball fight should settle it. Of course, group A won’t turn up, and Group B will be too busy working.
It’s quite funny seeing various updates from other people who run their businesses from home. Taking a snow day is difficult to justify when my commute is from bedroom to dining room.
But it does tie into some additional reading I’ve been doing on creativity and ideas – work is often occurs when you aren’t in the office, and you’re experiencing either something different from the norm, or something which allows you to perform a mindless task and let your subconscious wander.
