As some people age and begin to lose cognitive abilities, they start to express previously hidden artistic talents.

It’s not all good news, as the article from The Atlantic suggests that it tends to be linked to issues like dementia. But it does mean that we should be exploring what people might be gaining as they grow older, more than what they are losing – and with family members with dementia, that’s a valuable thing in my opinion.
